Charity
The Monastery was established by a monk of the Macarius Unzha Monastery -schema monk Isaiah as a Macarius cenobitic hermitage. In 1764 the hermitage was added to the Sviyazhsk Monastery of the Dormition. It became independent in 1798 and in 1816 there appeared a cenoby. It was on fire in 1800 and 1829.
Churches:
A double floor church: upstairs - in honor of the Ascension of Our Lord Jesus Christ, downstairs 2 side chapels: one in honor of the Vatopedi icon of the Mother of God and the other in honor of Saint Macarius of Unzha (1691, renewed and consecrated in 1839)
In honor of the Icon of the Mother of God "Consolation of All the Afflicted" with side chapels: one in the name of saint Athanasius of Alexandria and the other in the name of All Saints (1866, renewed in 1887).
A new page in the history of Macarius Monastery was opened in 1996, when the government transferred it to the authority of the Kazan Eparchy.
Since 2004 OJSC "Tatnefteprovodstroy" restores the Holy Macarius Monastery of the Ascension. In the meantime a belfry was restored. Four bells were ordered and founded in Voronezh especially for it, with total weight more than 1 ton. Two Churches were repaired: in honor of the Ascension of Our Lord Jesus Christ and in honor of the Vatopedi icon of the Mother of God. There was built a new double floor building of brethren's cells with a maintenance unit, bakery and hierarchal rooms.
At present the territory of The Holy Macarius Monastery of the Ascension is under improvement.
